Bulk import orders from a CSV

Upload many B2C orders at once, check every row first, and import only the rows that are valid.

If you take orders in a spreadsheet, bulk import saves hours. You upload a CSV, RouteOne checks every row, and you import the ones that pass.

Import your orders

  1. 1On the Orders page, click Create Order › Bulk Order.
  2. 2Keep B2C (Domestic) selected at the top. (B2B (Cargo+) is for Cargo+ orders.)
  3. 3Click Download sample CSV. It has the correct headers and one example row.
  4. 4Fill in one order per row. Save as CSV.
  5. 5Click Upload .csv, or paste the CSV into the box (include the header row).
  6. 6Click Validate. You will see how many rows are valid and how many are invalid.
  7. 7Click Import to create the valid orders.

Large imports run in the background. You will see a message that the orders are queued, and you can follow progress in Bulk Action › Bulk Activity Log.

Columns in the template

These are required: Order ID, Payment Mode (COD or PREPAID), Customer Name, Phone (10 digits), Address Line 1, City, State, Pincode (6 digits), Weight (kg), Length (cm), Width (cm), Height (cm), Product, Qty and Unit Price.

Optional columns include Order Date (YYYY-MM-DD, today if empty), Alt Phone, Email, Address Line 2, Pickup / Warehouse, Package, SKU and COD Amount. If you leave COD Amount empty on a COD order, the full order value is collected.

Values with commas, such as addresses, must be wrapped in double quotes. Excel and Google Sheets do this for you when you save as CSV.

Pickup location

Use Default pickup location with Apply to all rows to ship every row from one address. If it is switched off, the Pickup / Warehouse column decides: the name must match one of your saved pickup addresses, and rows with a blank pickup are skipped. Add addresses first in Add a pickup address.

Fix validation errors

Each row is checked against your account before anything is created, for example for serviceability of the pincode, pickup address, duplicate order IDs, phone number and weight. Invalid rows are listed under Invalid rows with the reason for each.

  • Click Download errors CSV to get your file back with a rowValidity column that says "valid" or gives the reason.
  • Fix those rows and upload again, or import the valid rows now and re-upload the rest later.
  • An Order ID that already exists in your account is rejected. Use a new one. See Same order ID across stores.
  • Weights under 0.5 kg are imported as 0.5 kg. You will see a note about it.

After import, COD orders wait for your approval and prepaid orders go straight to processing. See Approve COD orders.
